Warehouse volunteer

We have stock sorting volunteer teams in daily, for either morning or afternoon sessions at our Foodbank Hub warehouse in Avonmouth. The team weighs in, date checks and sorts donations onto shelves and maintains our container store.

Outlet volunteer
We often need new volunteers to help in our outlet teams at Henbury, Lawrence Weston, Avonmouth and Hotwells. These volunteers have a range of duties, from greeting and talking to clients, organising food parcels or making drinks in the café area.
Supermarket collection volunteer
This is one area where we are always short of volunteers. Twice a year we have three afternoons collecting donations from the public at local Tesco Stores. These are hugely important to the Foodbank as it boosts our food stocks and also, enables us to share the work we do with our local community.
These usually take place over the first weekend in July and December.
Why not offer an hour or two on a Saturday to make a real difference.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our Foodbank.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Hazel Craig at volunteering@bristolnwfoodbank.org.uk. Please click here to download our application form.
There are a variety of volunteering opportunities at the Foodbank, both front of house and behind the scenes.

Please note we are unable to accommodate DofE students.
Company volunteering days
Over the year we have a variety of opportunities for teams from local businesses to come and support our work. For example, teams from companies such as Lloyds Bank, Friend’s Life, Warburtons, Yankee Candle and BDO have come in and packed our Christmas hampers; helped us with our supermarket collection days; helped sort our harvest donations; painted our food store and packed bags for clients during our busy Christmas period. Please contact our office if you are interested in finding out more about the opportunities we have.
