Core Volunteering

We have a wide range of Volunteering roles in our foodbank Hub including home-delivery, van driving/buddying, stock sorting/management and in the kitchen team.

We also have volunteer teams in our foodbank Outlets at Avonmouth, Hotwells, Lawrence Weston, Severn Beach and Henbury, which support people using the foodbank.

Specialist Volunteer Roles

Space4Makers:

Our Space4Makers workshop occasionally has volunteering opportunities for people who are skilled in woodwork and who work well with groups of people. If you are interested please complete our application form. There is a careful selection process for these roles.

Eat Well Spend Less:

Our semi-regular ‘Eat Well Spend Less’ Cookery Courses occasionally has volunteering opportunities for volunteers who are interested in cooking skills and who has great people skills.

Additional specialist training is required and provided for these roles.

Supermarket collection volunteer

Several times a year we are offered in-store collection days at our linked Supermarkets. Our volunteer and staff are available throughout the day to share our shopping lists, organise donated food and to chat with the public.

These days are hugely important as they enable us to share the work we do with our local community and boost our food stocks.

Why not offer to be on our contact list for these days!

If you want to apply to Volunteer, please complete the application form and email it to volunteering@bristolnwfoodbank.org.uk

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our Foodbank.

Other ways to Volunteer:

One-off Volunteering Events:

We often need extra volunteers around Harvest time (September and October) and in the lead up to Christmas – keep an eye on our Facebook page for these appeals!

Company volunteering days:

Over the year we have a variety of opportunities for teams from local businesses to come and support our work. We prefer to build ongoing partnerships that extend beyond a single day in the year, so that you feel really invested in the work of the foodbank.

Office or Neighbourhood champions:

A flexible role enabling you to generate some food-donation energy in your office or Neighbourhood!

Please contact Hazel our volunteer lead if you are interested in finding out more about the opportunities we have.
