We're delighted to announce that the Bristol North West Foodbank with the support of the Bristol City Council Port Communities Resilience Fund has secured funding and planning permission to expand the Social Justice Hub in Avonmouth by building a community woodworking workshop facility.

The building works are now completed and our workshop tutors Mark and Neil are hard at work completing the workbenches and desk tops, ready for opening in October 2021

Follow us on facebook for regular updates!

You can get involved by being part of the volunteer team helping to setup and run the workshop, or simply come and enjoy this great new space once open.

Please fill in the form opposite if you'd like to become a volunteer or to find out more.  Or call Mark on 07305 100544.

We have plans to run a range of activities in the workshop, perhaps a furniture restoration & up-cycling group, parent/child group, model making club, even making wooden surfboards! We’d love to see some of the activities growing into social enterprises that could eventually contribute to the running costs of the facilities.

The vision is to provide informal groups and activities, alongside training programmes that engage with the wider community
to reduce social isolation, strengthen families, engage young people and young adults to develop confidence & skills that can
help people into work.

We are very grateful for the capital funding and support provided by the

'Port Community Resilience Fund'

to enable the creation of this new workshop space.
